Duties & Responsibilities:

  •     Installing, configuring, & maintaining hardware, software, & network at various levels
  •     Ability to perform repairs on multiple types of systems, including both Apple and PC devices when the occasion arises
  •     Ability to setup and maintain mobile devices (using MDM), will include deployment and inventory management of iPads and/or other such devices
  •     Ability to keep meticulous logs of repairs and/or services rendered
  •     Ability to respond to complex requests from users by analyzing user needs, evaluating alternatives, & recommending a course of action
  •     Inspecting new systems for missing components as listed on the purchase order and assure machine is in correct working order
  •     Assists users with questions and problems relating to a particular area including hardware, software, and network workstations
  •     Evaluate and make recommendations regarding current and future computer related technologies
  •     Assist with projects which include working with individuals from all divisions of the department
  •     Must be able to drive to/from locations across campus
  •     Will work with other support staff to manage Virtual Desktop Infrastructure lab(s)
  •     Must be able to manage, schedule, and supervise lab technicians
  •     Perform other related duties as required or assigned



Knowledge of the limitations and use of mainframe and microcomputer hardware and software

Ability to analyze computer system problems or errors and devise corrective meA-Stateres
Ability to write moderately complex applications to fulfill requirements or select appropriate off-the-shelf software and modify to suit the agency or institution
Ability to read and interpret technical literature and evaluate product acceptability and/or quality
Ability to manage disk space for micro, mini, or personal computer systems to ensure effective utilization of data, space, and equipment
Ability to code, test, and debug computer programs and write program documentation


General Days/Hours:

Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Additional hours as requested and/or needed
Regular and reliable attendance

Job Requirements

The formal education equivalent of an earned Bachelor's Degree in computer science, computer applications, mathematics, or a related field

Two (2) years of experience in computer support


Completion of technical training in computer science, data processing, or a related field acquired from a vocational, military, or industrial setting

Four (4) years experience in computer support including one (1) year of supervisory experience

Other job related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or parts of these basic requirements, except for certification or licensure requirements, upon approval of the qualifications review committee
